Who we are

Good Either Way is run by App Fjord AS (org 915565476), a company registered in Norway. We operate goodeitherway.com. When you sign up, these terms are between you and us.

How the stake works

You choose one to four sessions a month. In Australia a session's stake is $10 in Australian dollars (AUD) — never more than $40 on the line in any month. In Norway the stake is 100 kr in Norwegian kroner (NOK) — never more than 400 kr in any month. Your stake is fixed by the country on your account when the month starts. Right now stakes are dormant — nobody's charged a cent until our first charity partner goes live.

The monthly rhythm

Once it's live, the rhythm repeats every month: on or around the 25th we attempt to warn you about anything on the line — so a hold never surprises you. On or around the 1st we attempt to hold whatever's owed for sessions you missed. On or around the 5th we attempt to collect it unless you showed up or tapped “I regret it” — and it lands in your charity's own account the same day.

Changed your mind?

Between the 1st and the 5th, tap “I regret it” and the stake disappears — no charge, no donation, no hard feelings. Once we've collected on or around the 5th, your money is already on its way to your charity. No refunds after collection.

Where your money goes

Our general practice: 80% of every missed stake goes to the charity you picked and 20% to us — in dollars, $8 and $2 of every $10; in kroner, 80 kr and 20 kr of every 100 kr — with the charity's share always the charity's: in Australia and Norway alike it lands directly in the charity's own Stripe account — we never hold it. Card-processing fees come out of our share, never the charity's. If a creator introduced you, we pay them a quarter of our cut — 5% of the total, 50 cents of every $10 — from our side, never the charity's. If taxes or third-party fees shift in ways that threaten our sustainability, the actual split may be adjusted — and whatever it is, it will always be disclosed right here, never buried.

The expected math on a $10 forfeit

What we expect a collected $10 to look like, in real numbers: $8.00 to your charity, exactly, into their own Stripe account. Stripe's card-processing fee (roughly 45–60 cents depending on the card) comes out of our $2, leaving us around $1.40–$1.55 before our own taxes. If a creator introduced you, their 5% of the $10 — 50 cents — also comes from our side, leaving us roughly 90 cents to $1.05. In Norway the same shape in kroner: 80 kr to your charity exactly; our 20 kr fee is charged gross of Norwegian VAT (MVA) — 16 kr to us plus 4 kr MVA we pass to the state — and Stripe's card fee on the whole 100 kr (roughly 3–5 kr) also comes out of our side, leaving us around 11–13 kr before other costs; the 80 kr goes directly to the organisation's own account and never touches ours — outside VAT scope. This is what we expect to happen; if it turns out we can't afford to run the product on these numbers, we'll adjust them — and say so here first. For scale: we guess our breakeven (excluding human hours) at about $500 a month, though it really depends on what our servers end up costing — so we need roughly 500 people a month to, for lack of a better phrase, skip the gym to keep the lights on. Which would also mean about $4,000 raised for charities that month.

No tax-deductibility promises

We don't promise your donation is tax-deductible, ever. Your money moves directly into the charity's own account — any receipts are theirs to issue, not ours.

Cancelling

One tap: “I give up — let me off the hook.” No exit survey, no guilt trip, no maze. You're out, instantly, and nothing more is ever charged.

Injured? Pause.

One tap freezes every stake and nudge, instantly. We never push you through pain — and a connected PT sees the pause, so nobody trains hurt to protect a streak.

Partners, and our discretion

Creators earn 5% of collected stakes (a quarter of our 20%), invoice us from $100 — smaller balances roll forward — and keep their spot by staying visibly on board: a creator who posts nothing about Good Either Way for 12 months may lose their position, and it doesn't come back. And one honest, unglamorous clause across the board: we may remove any account — member, creator, employer, PT, or charity — at our discretion. This is, at the end of it, a business; that control is what lets us feel safe building it. Money already owed still flows per these terms.

Changes to these terms

If we ever change these terms in a way that matters to you, we'll tell you before it applies. Never silently.
